5.  Discuss your theme such as pinup, standard, creative.

6.  Communicate clearly with your photographer to ensure your goals are clear.

7.  If you know the baby's gender make sure to let the photographer know and if you are doing a gender revealing be sure to plan this ahead of time.

For Boudoir/Glamour and other session types please discuss with your photographer how to prepare.

Newborn

1.  The best time to schedule a newborn session is between day 1 to about day 15.  The longer you put it off the bigger chance you take on not getting some of the really creative newborn shots you may be hoping to obtain.  For some poses you need to be sure your little one is still sleeping very heavy so when they are put in certain position they do not move.

2.  Newborn sessions take time and the baby must be considered.  You will take breaks to soothe the baby, there will be changes of clothing or props and the little one may need to be fed and/or changed.

3.  You baby may go to the bathroom during shots when they are naked but it is anticipated by your photographer so do not stress.  In most cases the shot will be completed before clean up takes place.

4.  If you have special props you want to use outside of what the photographer provides you will bring them with you.

5.  Discuss your goals with the phtographer before the session to enure the goals are clear.

Schedule your session during the time of day when the little one sleeps the hardest.

6.  Try not to feed the baby at least an hour before you arrive for the session then feed them there to help the little one sleep during the session.

7.  Discuss with your photographer the types of shots you would like to  obtain.

Hire the right photographer to ensure you have the perfect portraits.
